Had a pretty fantastic home cooked turkey dinner, complete with lovable people and lots of laughters. Christmas eve was another story altogether. It was a depressing and shit night because everything was closed.
Been reminiscing quite a bit lately, as 2010 is drawing to a close. It was a great year, complete with ups and downs. It was a year of great changes to people, myself, my surrounding, my thoughts, and everything else.
As I am writing this, it is the 30th. Only one more day left in this eventful year, and then it will be another fresh new year. Hopefully, the next year will get better.
Time to list out things I've done in 2010!! A pretty short list, but that's all I can think of right now.
- Completed A levels and is successfully in uni right now. It's so weird being away from home, not spending christmas with my family, but instead with new friends in a new place, creating new memories.
- Learnt to cook, do laundry, and clean up the house. Lots of picture proofs, but am too lazy to dig it up and post it up here. After 18 years, I can finally say that I'm sort of good at cleaning up right now. My hands are pretty rough and horrible and in desperate need of some love right now, but this is the price of independence. :(
- Finally got to drive around properly after a year of holding onto my license and not using because I am officially 18! YAY! Driving is.. fun when you have the mood to. Otherwise, I still really enjoy sitting in other people's car and do nothing instead of focusing on the road.
- Experienced snow properly, as in LIVE here instead of going on vacation and all the problems associated with it. I have never been happier with the sun than when it is cold, rainy and snowing.
- Spent a huge amount of money in such a short period of time. The amount of liberation shopping gives me is indescribable.. and retail therapy is really harmful to the wallet. This one I will have to cut down in the upcoming year.
- Stayed in a library for super long. I know it's so weird to stay this, but I actually enjoy the stays at the library cause the study room has a plasma and everything. Pretty damn awesome. I am such a nerd.
- Fell in and out of love, and learnt many many things from the experience. As much as it hurts, I'm glad that it happened, and I will take it as a lesson.
- Watched my first football match, live, in barcelona. Even bought the jersey and everything. Such a loser :P It was a disappointing match, 0 - 0, and everyone was speaking in spanish. :(
- Lost some friends, made some new ones, reconnected with others, and lost contact with a few. Everyone is unique and I appreciate all the memories and footprints, whether good or bad, that they left in my journey thus far. Been quite sentimental lately and checked back quite a bit of pictures from the good old high school times. AH. The drastic change of my appearance!
Here's to a better year next year of 2011. I am ready to take it on, and no matter what challenges the new year ahead hurls at me, I want to be ready to take it on and tackle it down.
